The stimulus bill that was passed earlier this year has meant that more money was being given away and loaned out than ever before in this countries history. This giveaway will undoubtedly be argued about for years to come and it may never be agreed upon whether it was a success. Right now though, it is clear that people are looking for ways to get a piece of the action.

One of the areas where people are hoping to get some of the money is through one of the new Obama grants. Whether there will be more money available to individuals than in the past has yet to be seen but people are interested nevertheless. Right now times are so tough for so many people that they will be looking for freebies where ever they can find them.

Grants from the government are free and don’t have to be repaid whereas a loan would. Most grants though, are aimed at businesses and different state and local projects for rebuilding infrastructure and other things. As grants are free, this naturally means that there is a lot of competition for them. It also means that very few people are going to be able to qualify for one and get one.

One thing that some are trying to find are student loans and back to school grants. President Obama might have mentioned something about moms going back to school and that has sent moms all over the country to their computers trying to find out more. He has also put through a new bill where all student loans would be dispersed by the government instead of through private companies, as is the norm now. This bill is due to be voted on next year and will undoubtedly have some opposition.

Even with the incredibly large amount of money that has already been given out by the stimulus bill, it is very difficult to see if it is working. Unemployment remains high and many people are still without jobs. It looks like nothing has really changed in this country as the liberals want more money given out and conservatives want it all to end.
